Meet Bob (Owner) & His Team

Robert (Bob) Blanda is the President and founder of Mill Bergen Pools, a full-service pool construction company, service department, and retail outlet in Brooklyn, NY. Bob was born and raised in Brooklyn. He graduated from Saint Frances College in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Bob started Proper Pool Installations Inc. at age 17 and spent the summer installing above ground pools. Over the next four years, Bob honed his craft by working summers installing and servicing pools and he spent the winters completing his education. After his graduation, Bob started Mill Bergen Pools.

Bob is a firm believer in continuous education, for himself and his employees, as evident by the extensive list of technical and business seminars he attends every year. As a leader in the field, Bob is responsible for ‘raising the bar’ in the pool industry. His passion lies in the quality of workmanship. This became his priority. Bob’s motivation was the lack of builders willing to follow codes, regulations, and standards promulgated by the national pool association – APSP (Association of Pool and Spas Professionals) and national, state, and local governments. As a Certified Building Professional, Certified Service Professional, and Certified Pool Operator, Bob continues to lead by his example.

As an industry volunteer, Bob loves to give back. Locally, Bob is the Past President of the Metro NY/NJ chapter of the APSP. Regionally, Bob is the Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Northeast Spa and Pool Association (NESPA), which includes PN, CT, NJ, and NY. Nationally, Bob is the Past Chairman of the APSP Builder’s Council and as the Chairman of the Builder’s Education Committee, he continues to pursue his passion. Bob is married to the love of his life, Gina. Together, they have three terrific children, Jessica, Alexa, and Robert.
