Our Process

Our Pool Construction Process

Step 1: Initial Meeting

At the initial meeting, we come to your home to go over what you are looking for in your backyard pool. Factoring in the size and layout of your backyard, we work with you to bring your backyard vision to life. This includes selecting materials and discussing what water features options you want to incorporate into your poolscape. We also give you an in-depth overview of the pool-building process, from start to finish.

Step 2: Proposal & Presentation

Before we have a final design for your pool, we go over costs. Based on your family’s budget, we discuss all of the design options and features available to you. This meeting is important in helping us to create your dream backyard pool without breaking the bank.

Mill Bergen Pools invites you to take advantage of the unique opportunity to experience a swimming pool environment in the comfort of our indoor showroom, where you can see first-hand the various designs and features we offer. View working examples of our craftsmanship to get some inspiration for your project. While you’re here, one of our specialists working on your project will present you with our mock-up design of your pool. Here we discuss any additional features and finishes to incorporate into your backyard oasis.

Step 3: Review Your 3D Design

We once again meet you for you to approve the final design and sign the contract for us to start building your pool! We go over the paperwork in detail so that you know exactly what you’re agreeing to and by keeping everybody on the same page. We answer any questions you have about the agreement and the work involved in construction.

Step 4: Let the Building Start!

Construction begins! This is the most exciting step as you see your backyard dream become a reality right before your eyes. Below are the eight phases of construction:

  • Excavation
  • Steel reinforcement
  • Setting the electrical and plumbing components
  • Setting the concrete
  • Tile & coping installation
  • Decking installation
  • Pool finish installation
  • Pool start up and running

Depending on the design, size, and shape of your pool, construction takes anywhere from 4-8 weeks to complete.
